Secrets of Night by Virginia Cavanaugh

Vampires and Shifters and Sorceresses, oh my!

Kierra is a sorceress, not a witch, no pentagrams and potions here. She is also a Senator for the Order of the Night, a council created in 1200 AD that now rules and governs the paranormal world. Suddenly thrown into a rescue mission, Kierra finds old feelings re-emerging, forbidden feelings. What will she do, what should she do? Will she let her heart rule her head? And what will happen if she does?

Kale is a vampire, a member of The Triad, the highest position of authority possible within the Order. Called upon by Kierra after mysterious disappearances occur, Kale finds feelings stirring he thought long buried. Can he fight these feelings and succeed in his mission? If he gives in to the feelings he is warring with, will it cost him more than he is willing to give? What forces are behind the disappearances, and what are they seeking?

If you love paranormal romance, this book is for you! Elements of romance, danger, and intrigue abound. Kale is every bit the alpha male hero, and Kierra is a strong female, who goes after what she wants. Evil forces war with good, and old ways war with new. Who will win, will there be a happily ever after? Read this wonderful book to find out!

Ava’s Pleasure by Heidi Lynn Anderson

Ava Cullen, straight-laced counselor at an all girl’s Catholic school is having erotic dreams about a man she has never truly met.  Even though her roommate, Nick, hot, sexy fireman that he is, has tried, the dreams are not about him.  Ava has no feelings about Nick other than friendship.  Ava feels her life is out of her control, that she will never find love, because she is being punished by God.  But, will a trip to Miami to see her Aunt Julie change all that?  Is the man from her dreams within her reach?

Logan Turner, Navy SEAL, and co-owner of a hot Miami sex club, is a busy man.  Going on dangerous missions, then returning home to help his longtime friend and partner Julie with the club, and participating in the lifestyle of the club.  But, yet, he is alone.  Though he and Julie are friends, as are he and Maggie and Wanda, he is alone.  He has been having erotic dreams about a woman, he feels she has saved his life on the last mission he was sent on.  But, he has never met her, not really.  Can he find her?  If he does, will she really be “the one”?

When Ava suddenly walks into Paradise, the story begins!  Can she let go and trust Logan completely?  Will he give up everything he believes he is for this shy young woman?  Will she accept his lifestyle?  What about Julie?  What will she think of her niece being with someone like Logan?  Can love find a way to bring to people together who have never met, only dreamed of each other, and bring about a happily ever after?

This is an amazingly good story of romance and character.  Logan is a true hero, and Ava is so very innocent.  Watching them grow together, come to love each other through the story is beautiful.  I found the characters well written, and the story flowed very well.  I would like to see more of these characters in future books, as well as the secondary characters.

Razor by Margie Church and Kb Cutter

Amy and Bryce Gage, he’s in commercial construction, she’s a budding interior designer, and they are a happily married couple.  Or are they?  Amy wants more, more control over their sex life.  But, Bryce is dominant – in everything.  Enter Raine, Amy’s best friend, and a Domme. Can she help Bryce give up control, or will it destroy her friend’s beautiful marriage?  What does Raine want from this?  What does Amy really want?  Is there more to this than meets the eye?  Can any of them give up the control they so cherish and learn to truly love?

This book is light BDSM.  Not as heavy as 50 Shades of Grey.  When I started it, I was expecting it to be heavier than it was, and was surprised at the lightness of the BDSM compare to some others I have read.  The story is good, very enjoyable and easy to read.  The characters are endearing and I would love to know more of what happened to them!  I also found the secondary characters interesting, and would like to see more of them as well.

Housework….

How many of us hate housework?  I know I do!  I’d rather be reading!  LOL!  But, I can’t afford a housekeeper, so, it’s on me to get it done.  And, it’s all never ending!  The dishes, the laundry, the dusting!  GAG!  I can’t keep up.  I tell myself that I am not as young as I used to be, that is the reason I can’t get it all done.  In truth, I think I just don’t want to do it, or would rather do anything but housework.  Mostly because I know I’ll just have to do it again tomorrow…and the next day…and the next day.  So frustrating!

A new way has come to my attention, and I’m giving it a try.  I want to share it with you in the hope that it will help all of us.  It’s http://www.flylady.net.  There you will find a daily dose of help.  From decluttering to daily chores, you take baby steps to regain control of your life and your home.  And, best of all, you don’t have to kill yourself trying to get it all done in a few days, either!  You take a few minutes each day in specific areas.  As she says, your home didn’t get this way overnight, and it won’t get better overnight, either!

So…if you hate housework as much as I do, if you feel overwhelmed by it all and want to find a better way, check out http://www.flylady.net today!  I’m starting to change my ways and finally love myself.  I hope you will, too!

Trinity Bound by Carrie Ann Ryan

Trinity Bound is the story of Reed Jamenson, third son of the Alpha of the Redwood Pack.  Reed is the Pack’s artist, but has always felt that he is not useful, not important to the Pack.  Having been captured by the rival Central Pack, he is now locked in a cell with a woman, and is being tortured.  He doesn’t know why he has been captured, nor why he is being tortured.  He only hopes that his Pack will find him soon and that he can save the woman he feels is his mate.

Hannah Lewis is a witch, but a special one, an earth witch.  The Centrals have captured her and murdered her mother.  She is being held in a cell and tortured, along with a man she doesn’t know.  She also doesn’t know why these wolves want her and are beating her and the man.  Lost and alone without her mother, Hannah doesn’t know what her future now holds.  All she knows is that she wants to help the man she is being held with and that she feels drawn to him.

Josh Kolb is a human with extraordinary abilities.  A former Navy SEAL, he has nobody and no place of his own in the world.  He is alone, and thinks he likes it that way.  Can he find the two strangers he is suddenly drawn to?  Why is he drawn to them?  Where will this lead him, and can he handle the world of the supernatural that he falls into?

As the story progresses, demons, evil, war and, of course, love abound.  How will all of this work out?  Will Reed, Hannah and Josh find love despite the numerous events that try to stop them?

Though not normally a fan of menage,  I was truly drawn to Reed’s story.  It is enthralling, and a wonderful story of love conquers all.  I highly recommend it!  Carrie Ann writes a lovely, and makes it a joy to read.
