The Space Between by Kristie Cook

This novel is part one of The Book of the Phoenix. It is the story of Leni and Jeric, or so the reader thinks. As the book goes on, we find that it is not only their story, but the story of Jacey and Micah, Guardians, Warriors, who protect the universe from evil. So many mysteries and so much evil abound in their stories. The book is intriguing and hard to put down!

Leni and Jeric meet in Italy when Leni is dancing with a ballet troop there, a long time dream of hers. She feels drawn to him in a way that she has never felt drawn to anyone before. But, thinks she will never see him again as she is to leave for the states and home the next day. A series of coincidences, or are they? bring them together again, and again.

Strange occurrences continue to throw them together, along with a book that tells a strange story. Will they follow their hearts and the pull that they feel to each other, or will they destroy what has been for centuries? Will evil win this day?

This book drew me in from the beginning. I found it hard to put it down, and was intrigued by all the twists and turns and the dual storyline. I can’t wait for the next book, as the characters are well written and the plot is intriguing.

Sword’s Call by C.A. Szarek

Sword’s Call, the first book of The King’s Riders Series, tells the story of Lady Ceralda Ryhan, heir of the Duke of Greenwald and possessor of a magic sword. She is in danger, being sought by Lord Varthan after he murdered her family, seeking to possess the sword and become king of the kingdom of Terraquist. In hiding, and running to her only remaining family, an aunt and uncle, Cera saves the life of a half-elf named Jorrin who joins her on her trek along with her bond mate, a white wolf named Trikser.

Set in the time of Kings and Queens, Knights and Ladies, Cera encounters elves, mages, wizards, and healers along her path to save not only her sword, but the King and kingdom of Terraquist. But, will she find the help she needs, or will Lord Varthan and his evil Shades win? Will Cera find more than she bargains for at the end of her quest? Can she open her heart and learn to trust and maybe even love again?

Ms. Szarek has woven a tale of danger, intrigue, power and love in this medieval tale. A bit slow in the beginning, but soon the story began to be filled with drama and was hard to put down. It was truly enjoyable to read. I can’t wait to read more of these characters, and see not only them, but the author continue to grow and develop!

New and Out Today!!!!

Cards and Caravans by Cindy Spencer Pape

The newest installment of The Gaslight Chronicles does not fail to live up to the standard set by the previous books in the series. Set in Scotland, this book is the story of Belinda Danvers and Sir Connor MacKay. Belinda, a widow, has been accused of witchcraft, is jailed and is to be burned at the stake. Sir Connor has been sent to investigate. As a Knight, it is his duty to investigate all things magickal in the kingdom, and the Order is the only group authorized to prosecute in such cases.

Will Sir Connor be able to save Belinda from the stake and those who have accused her? Can Belinda open her heart to another man? Can Sir Connor overcome his love for another woman? Or will the evil that threatens them all win at last.

This novel grabbed my attention from the first page, I had a difficult time putting it down. With witches, werewolves, sorcerers, and all the intrigue, what more could a reader of paranormal books want? And of course, there is the romance! Ms. Pape has once again written a novel full of all the elements that this reader enjoys. Anyone looking for a steampunk romance with paranormal elements will enjoy this book immensely!

This contemporary romance is the story of Quinn Roberts and Susanna Barnes, set in New York and Hollywood, it is a modern twist on a Cinderella story.

Quinn Roberts is handsome, sexy, single and a movie star. And…he finds himself with a 5 month old boy he calls junior. What does a movie star know about babies? Nothing. So, needing help, he hires a nanny. The moment Susanna Barnes enters his apartment, he feels that there is something different about her, he’s drawn to her in a way he never has been to another woman. But, she’s here to take care of Junior.

Susanna Barnes is starting her life over after a tragic accident changed everything. Taking a job as a nanny seemed like a simple way to start. But, her job turns out to be anything but simple. Working for a movie star puts her in the spotlight in more ways than she ever imagined. And, she is drawn to Quinn in ways she has never been to another man. But, she is the nanny, she can’t become attached to him, or his baby, can she?

This book brings many twists and turns, as well as a cast of family and friends, and some unexpected heroes and villains into the lives of Quinn and Susanna. Can they each learn to trust and follow their feelings in order to find the happiness they both deserve? Or will the obstacles and people who try to get in their way win and stop them from their happiness?

Jean has once more delivered a wonderful read! Very enjoyable with endearing characters that are well developed. The plot flows very well from beginning to end. I highly recommend this book!

The Dragon’s Call by KW McCabe

This paranormal novel revolves around two dragons, Derek and Tariq and their time among humans, away from the Queen’s enclave. It is also the story of a human family, the Burns’, Todd, Daniel, and Cecily. But…are they just human? When Derek and Tariq arrive at the high school Daniel and Cecily attend, Cecily is strangely Drawn to Derek, and he to her. Why? She has always been warned to stay away from dragons.

There is so much going on in this book! Love, danger, intrigue, suspense! It was a surprise and a pleasure to read. Although, in the beginning, I had a difficult time getting into the book, it wasn’t long before I was so wrapped up in the story that I couldn’t put the book down.

Ms. McCabe has presented wonderfully thought out characters who draw the reader in, make them want more, and who are delightfully well presented. I can’t wait for the next book in this series! I need more of these dragons!

Now and Forever 3: Blind Love is a Contemporary Romance with lots of twists! It tells the story of members of the Caldwell family of Willow Falls. Blurred Expectations by Carrie Ann Ryan

The Trinity Bond is struggling. Josh, Reed and Hannah have each been helping the Pack in their own way, Hannah as the Pack’s Healer, Josh helping Adam as an Enforcer, and Reed coming into his own as a part of the Alpha’s family. They have used their Trinity Bond to strengthen the wards surrounding the den. But, they have suffered for it, and are now dealing with pain, loss, and depression. Each are dealing with it in their own way, or trying to. Hannah, most of all, is pulling away, keeping her secrets to herself, not depending on her mates. Her duties to the Pack have cost her more than she can bear.

Will Hannah be able to overcome her sense of failure, loss and her depression to return to her mates whole and help them and the Pack once more? Can she find her way, or will her problems cause more loss and suffering? Will Josh truly be able to put his past behind him, coming into his own as a member of the Pack and accept his demon side? Can Reed help his mates through this time of loss and pain?

In this novella, Carrie Ann has told the story of a loss and pain in a very real way. Showing the bond of these mates falling apart, their pain at the loss, and what lengths they will go to to return to each other. A wonderful addition to the Redwood Pack series! Don’t miss it!
